NEW Goodwill Store Opening in Chandler, AZ

Not too long ago Goodwill opened a new store on Recker & Main St. in Mesa to add to their other 6 Mesa locations. This month they have another new store opening in Arizona. Visit the newest Goodwill located in Chandler on 10/15/2010 for their grand opening.

Here's the e-mail they sent me:

Evening of Goodwill RafflesJust in time for Halloween, Goodwill of Central Arizona is hosting one of our spookiest store grand openings ever!

On October 15 at 9 AM, we will open our newest Goodwill store at 1095 S. Arizona Ave, on the northeast corner of Arizona Avenue at the 202. The new store and donation center is the second retail store for Goodwill in Chandler.

You can find great Halloween costumes, spooky home decor and many more fantastic treasures including jewelry, furniture, electronics, house wares and toys.

The new, modern store features about 18,000 square feet of retail space and offers customers nearly 100,000 freshly-stocked, unique items. Each Goodwill store also offers on-the-job training and skills development for participants while providing quality goods at remarkable prices.

• Click HERE to learn more about Goodwill stores and donation centers in central Arizona.

Evening of Goodwill RafflesGoodwill of Central Arizona is excited to announce that Felicia Berg is the lucky winner of our October 13 Evening of Goodwill Raffle! Berg won a Nintendo Wii!

But we still have one more prize to give away on Friday, October 15!

Will YOU be the winner of the SuperDraw - Travel Package which includes two (2) Southwest Airlines Travel Vouchers, a Hotel Gift Card and a Camcorder with Tripod?

If you purchased a raffle ticket from July 19 to October 11, then you are entered into this drawing! The winners of the previous drawings are also eligible.

We thank all of you who bought raffle tickets at our Goodwill of Central Arizona stores. The proceeds earned from the raffle and the Evening of Goodwill event support Goodwill's General Education Fund for local at-risk youth and the Barker Post-Secondary Scholarship Fund for disadvantaged adults who want to gain an education but don't have the means.

Good luck to everyone!

Are you still on the fence about attending our 10th Annual Evening of Goodwill on October 16 at Desert Foothills in north Scottsdale?

Our Evening of Goodwill online ticket window is now closed but you can still purchase tickets by calling Alicia Moskowitz at 602.535.4047 until 5 PM on Friday, October 15.

The theme of this year's event is Denim and Diamonds. This will be a great opportunity for you and your posse to get gussied up in your favorite western digs! If you missed out on last year's festivities, we had so much fun kickin' up dust in the Scottsdale desert, we couldn't resist the opportunity to do it again!

The Evening of Goodwill is our only fundraiser and provides businesses, organizations and individuals with a fantastic occasion for giving a "hand up" to disadvantaged Arizonans through scholarships, who want an education but don't have the means to pursue it.

For just $100 per ticket, you will enjoy a night to remember beneath a canopy of twinkling stars in the middle of the majestic Sonoran Desert.

Also, the evening will include a silent auction, hosted reception, buffet-style barbecue dinner, western-themed games, live entertainment and a special award presentation honoring clients, partners and other community advocates who support Goodwill's mission and clients. All proceeds from the event fund educational opportunities and scholarships for Goodwill's adult program clients and at-risk youth attending our Ecademie Charter High School.

Fall Fashion Trend on Sale

New York & Company has cardigans on sale buy one, get one 50% off.

My favorites are the Flyaway styles.  Here's a flyaway vest that is available in gray or black and is 50% off so it's only $11.47

These hot little button down sweaters aren’t just for teachers anymore – they are stylish, cute and functional.
It’s so easy to wear a cardigan, and every woman’s wardrobe needs one this season. Here’s why:
  • They add color & interest to any outfit. Buy a cardigan in a bright color to dress up a neutral outfit. A plain black tank top looks amazing with a colorful cardigan, jeans and some simple jewelry.
  • Dress them up or down. Cardigans are great for throwing on for class and staying warm, but are equally awesome to wear at work, to internships, dinner with your boyfriend’s conservative parents, etc.
  • You’ll be prepared for any weather. Throw a cardigan in your tote bag to protect from unexpected cold outside or even air conditioning. You’ll look cute and be comfortable no matter what!
  • Wear your summer tank tops into fall. All those fabulous summer tank tops you own are good through November with a simple cardigan on top. Hello wardrobe versatility, they'll look great paired with jeans, or even a dress and boots.

Also, if you have a NY&C Rewards card you get free shipping all the time.

20% off at Dress Barn

A few months ago my hubby said I should get myself a new dress for my birthday.  Our budget was about $30 so we headed to Arizona Mills Mall in search of the perfect, not too expensive, dress.  You won't believe the number of dresses I tried on & was still unable to find anything suitable.  The idea was to be semi-dressy, something that looks nice but can be worn with sandals, to wear to our trip to Tucson (which was in August).

Anyway, while looking around we came across a Dress Barn & they had sooo many nice outfits there.  Most of them were a little bit dressier than what we were looking for & I'm pretty sure everything was out of our price range except the clearance racks. LOL

But if you're looking for something nice to wear, maybe for an upcoming party, reunion, special dinner or even in advance for holiday parties you're in luck because I just found a rare item:  a coupon for Dress Barn.  This is for 20% off ONE ITEM & expires 9/19/2010.  It is not valid on any items discounted more than 50% off but can be used on the first item in the buy one, get one 50% off deal.

                                      Dress Barn Company History

At a time when women were wholly underrepresented in the workplace, Roslyn dared not only to work, but also to launch a new era in women's fashion. Designer label wool pencil skirts, sheer blouses, flares, furs, and leather coats were all the rage. And Roslyn offered her customers the very latest in women's designer styles. A year later the second dressbarn store was opened. Soon after the inception of the business, her husband Elliot joined Roslyn. Together they built the business as well as a reputation for quality, style, value, and customer service. In 1983 dressbarn's stock was introduced on the NASDAQ Exchange. Today, dressbarn remains customer centric, extremely sensitive to and focused on the needs and desires of women in the 21st century. While society and its priorities continually change, dressbarn is poised to respond to these evolutionary trends.

With over 800 stores, across the country, dressbarn strives to maintain its distinctive position in the marketplace by providing its own private labels and contemporary fashions at great value in an environment that is friendly and trustworthy.

I hope you enjoy finding out about all the different ways you can stretch your paycheck.
